Between the end of the 1950s and the beginning of the 1960s, sisters Luigia and Anna Rosa married, respectively, Giuliano Azzi and Antonio Tenca, the founders of Panguaneta in 1960. Family and company intertwined and grew together. To protect their wives and children from any twist of fate, Giuliano and Antonio bought the first poplar groves and assigned them to Luigia and Anna, an intimate and personal decision, but also a public recognition of their value and role in the company. It is the natural development of the centuries-old tradition of Lower Mantua, and the dowry of the daughters was made up of small plots, instead of money: this gift did not end with the two women, but could be a source of livelihood for the following generations. On these floodplains, poplars are grown today as they used to be in the past, thus proving the wisdom of that choice and acknowledging the contribution of women to the economic and social development of our Country
